Made in my own gallery

I love printing. Printing is an art in itself: making sure the feeling of a photo comes across on paper is the hard part. Different papers, different frames, different materials, there is so much to think about. I love doing that myself, here in my own little gallery in Amersfoort.

Every print is personally proofed and made here. The smaller sizes I print myself; for the bigger sizes and the other materials I work with local labs I know well. Everything is made here and shipped from here. That does make the shipping cost a little higher, but you get a print proofed and signed by me, straight from the Netherlands.

I want my photos to look as good on paper as they possibly can.

The Lighthouse Eclipse, framed in a black wooden frame on a dark gallery wall Favàritx, Menorca · 12 August 2026 The Lighthouse Eclipse On 12 August 2026 a total solar eclipse crossed Spain at sunset. I photographed it from a boat on the choppy open sea off the coast of Menorca, where the eclipsed sun came down right above the lighthouse of Favàritx, just minutes before it disappeared into the sea. An eclipse this low on the horizon is very rare. The sun was only a few degrees above the water, glowing deep orange through the haze while the moon slid in front of it. A moment of just a few seconds, planned months in advance. This was one of the most difficult photos I have ever taken. Read the full story and watch the video on my blog → See sizes and prices

Best of the Netherlands

My absolute best work from my home country, the Netherlands, through more than fifteen years of photographing it.

The World's Beauty

Some of my best work from photographing around the world through the years. These are the moments I keep chasing. Our amazing world has so much beauty to offer.

The materials

Every image is available in three finishes. All of them are made and checked here, signed by hand, and packed to travel.

Fine art paper

Fine art paper

A4 · A3+ · A2

Signed fine art paper with a border of about a centimetre. I print every one myself in the gallery, individually sharpened for the size you order and proofed on the printer, so the colours and the detail come out exactly right.

Each print is checked on the wall, signed by hand and packed flat or in a tube.

Acrylic on dibond

Acrylic on dibond

75 × 50 cm and up

A real photographic print, exposed on high-quality photo paper and sealed behind clear acrylic glass with permanently elastic silicone. The three-layer alu-dibond back keeps the piece perfectly flat for decades.

The glass deepens the colours and adds a spatial depth no other material reaches. An aluminium hanging plate comes fitted to the back, so it hangs straight and floats just off the wall.

Wooden frame on Hahnemühle

Wooden frame on Hahnemühle

75 × 50 cm and up

No standard frame. Solid wood, cut to size around the print, with the image set flat into the frame and no glass in front of it, so the beautiful paper texture steals the show.

Printed on Hahnemühle fine art paper, the standard of galleries and museum collections. An aluminium hanging plate comes fitted to the back, so it hangs straight and level.

Questions and answers

The things people ask me most. Anything else: just send me an email, I answer them all myself.

How long does it take before my print arrives?

Everything you order online is made for you, so nothing ships from a warehouse. Smaller paper prints are usually with you within a few working days inside Europe, and a bit longer outside of it. Larger prints, acrylic pieces and framed work take about two weeks: they are made for you, checked, and packed to survive the trip.

Unless you visit the gallery, of course. There is work on the wall and in stock here, so you can walk out with a piece the same day.

What if my print arrives damaged?

Then you get a new one, no discussion. Send me a photo of the damage and of the packaging it came in, and I will make a new print and ship it to you.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, everywhere, from the gallery in Amersfoort. The shipping cost is calculated at checkout and depends on the country, the size and the material. Everything I make leaves from the Netherlands, so shipping is a little more expensive than from a big lab around the corner. In return you get a print I proofed and signed by hand myself.

Orders going outside the EU can be charged import duties and local VAT by the country they arrive in. Those charges are set by your own customs, they are not part of my price, and they are paid by you.

Can I order a size or a material that is not on the list?

Yes, custom orders are possible. Another size, another material, a different frame: mail me at info@albertdros.com and I will work it out with you. The two largest sizes go through me by email anyway, because I arrange the packing and the transport per piece.

Can I return a print?

These are made to order especially for you, so I cannot take them back into stock. If something is wrong with your print, or it arrived damaged, I will always sort it out. Send me an email before you order if you are unsure about a size or a material, then we will find the right one together.

Where does the payment go?

Checkout runs in my own webshop, Beauty of the Netherlands by Albert Dros, on a secure Shopify checkout. That is the same business, so your order and your questions land with me.
